My hairdressing learning experience

Hairdressing.

Who would have thought that I would be studying hairdressing? Hahaha!

So when did my hairdressing adventure start?  I remember when I was only five years old, I used to have long spiral hair.  However, my mother decided to cut it short because I could not keep my hair tidy for the whole day! Up until now, I could still remember how I cried as the hairdresser cut my hair short.  When I was bigger and my hair got longer, I learned to braid and to style my tresses.  Until I became known in my school to have long, shiny, and stylish hair. I sported my long hair for six years and had it cut before I entered high school.

Basically, my hair had been cut, grown longer, permed, and colored but never rebonded so I still have virgin hair, free from rebonding chemicals.

When I was in Italy for a year, my sisters from all over the world would ask me to cut or trim their hair. I was just amazed and then my confidence grew.  So when my husband and I decided that I stop working, we thought of enrolling hairdressing class instead!

Aside from my hairdressing teacher who teaches us and gives us guided practical exercises, I would also deepen my knowledge by watching youtube videos.

Here is my favorite channel, so far.

Free Salon Education.  This channel is very great and I get more and more confident on how to handle hair.  His ways and style are very easy to follow and remember.  This channel was founded by Matt Beck as their About page tells us.

"A teacher of mine handed down videos to me in beauty school. The knowledge I had gained for free was amazing! The many artists and teachings in those videos inspired me to further my career and become an educator" - Matt Beck

I am looking forward to learning more about hairdressing and who knows have my own salon, too.

My next write-up, will be featuring my favorite hairdressing tools.
