Essere misericordiosi
Be merciful

“God shows us, in a new and higher manner, that there is something worth more than suffering: love for others, in the form of mercy. This is the love, which stretches our hearts and arms to embrace the wretched, the poor, repentant sinners, and those whom life has ravaged. Mercy is the final expression of charity; it is what completes it. And charity goes beyond suffering, for suffering belongs to this life alone, whereas love continues into the next. God prefers mercy to sacrifice.”

* Today is also Chiara's birthday. We thank her for saying her YES to God.

Password and Meditation for January 11, 2017

Passwords allow us to access something.  In this case, I have thought of sharing the password that our community, Focolare (Work of Mary) foundress, Chiara Lubich has been sharing with us with her meditations. Simple as they may be, they have helped us go ahead with our lives and gives more color and meaning in our mundane everyday endeavors.

So here you go...

Aiutare chi è nelle difficoltà
Help people in difficulty
“We are members of one another, and mutual service is our duty. Jesus did not merely advise us to serve one another, He commanded us to do so. When we help someone out of charity, let us not immediately think ourselves saints. If our neighbor is powerless, we must help him, and we must do so as effectively as he would help himself, if only he could. Or else, what kind of Christians are we?”

Can you relate or have experiences on how you have lived this password?

Zia's Tresshoppe

My hairdressing graduation day will be in a couple of days.  I am quite excited because finally I will finish and get a certificate from Alternative Learning System.

Meantime, let me introduce to you my facebook page- Zia's TresShoppe.  Why it's called Zia? That is how my nephews and godchildren call me. The word is Italian for Aunt or Auntie.  Tressshoppe is actually a concoction of two archaic words, tress(hair) and shoppe(shop).  I guess it gives a very unique air in my opinion. My husband helped me with the name.

So here you go guys, you can check my fb page out. Thanks! Ü

Review - World Balance Speed Booster Women's Shoes Experience

Shoes are an integral part of our lives.  They protect our feet from dust, dirt, and from anything that can cause pain (like steel-toe shoes).  Moreover, they make our physical mobility comfortable,

After being barred from strenuous activities, I tried to get back to being physically fit by occasionally joining Zumba class or just have a good walk.  Well, I have found this new pair of shoes quite comfortable and amazing! The soles are fully cushioned thus your feet feel like they are walking on soft yet sturdy ground. It is very light and I should say that I can definitely walk in these shoes for hours.

You can check more on the details of these shoes through this website at World Balance.  This product just makes me very proud because this is Philippine-made and you can certainly get the value for your money.  Quality is never compromised considering that it is very affordable--- bought only this pair for almost 1,300Php. Wait, there's more! This pair comes with a free set of pink shoelaces.

How's that for a great deal!

My hairdressing learning experience

Hairdressing.

Who would have thought that I would be studying hairdressing? Hahaha!

So when did my hairdressing adventure start?  I remember when I was only five years old, I used to have long spiral hair.  However, my mother decided to cut it short because I could not keep my hair tidy for the whole day! Up until now, I could still remember how I cried as the hairdresser cut my hair short.  When I was bigger and my hair got longer, I learned to braid and to style my tresses.  Until I became known in my school to have long, shiny, and stylish hair. I sported my long hair for six years and had it cut before I entered high school.

Basically, my hair had been cut, grown longer, permed, and colored but never rebonded so I still have virgin hair, free from rebonding chemicals.

When I was in Italy for a year, my sisters from all over the world would ask me to cut or trim their hair. I was just amazed and then my confidence grew.  So when my husband and I decided that I stop working, we thought of enrolling hairdressing class instead!

Aside from my hairdressing teacher who teaches us and gives us guided practical exercises, I would also deepen my knowledge by watching youtube videos.

Here is my favorite channel, so far.

Free Salon Education.  This channel is very great and I get more and more confident on how to handle hair.  His ways and style are very easy to follow and remember.  This channel was founded by Matt Beck as their About page tells us.

"A teacher of mine handed down videos to me in beauty school. The knowledge I had gained for free was amazing! The many artists and teachings in those videos inspired me to further my career and become an educator" - Matt Beck

I am looking forward to learning more about hairdressing and who knows have my own salon, too.

My next write-up, will be featuring my favorite hairdressing tools.

Giving birth to our Babydudes

October 3, 2015, I had my pre-natal check up. I was accompanied by my good friend Gwen.  It was past 2pm when my obgyn was done checking me up.  Before letting me go, she told me to have another ultrasound.  But since it was almost 3pm and we had not eaten our lunch yet, Gwen and I decided to grab a munch from a nearby KFC restaurant.  While eating, I sent a message to the ultrasound clinic to ask for their clinic hours and was told that they will just be until 2:30pm but since they are still attending 2 patients I might as well catch up.  Apparently, I was told by my obgyn's secretary to come back on Monday instead.  But there was really an impetus for me to have my ultrasound that same day.  I had to thank St Gerard Majella for the guidance as I had been praying for a safe delivery.

Fast forward, I gave birth to a healthy 3.45kg at 50cm baby boy at 9:48am on October 4, 2015 via Caesarean section. It was a Sunday and also the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

Looking back I just can't help but thank God for the grace and for the overflowing love of my family, relatives, and friends who visited me with the flowers and thoughtfulness.
